 We are blinded
to our own defects of character, especially when we're in conflict with others. It's
important to focus on those before judging others who may stir in us feelings of anger, hurt or frustration.
Responding to God's call to us to work on our own defects (and leave others' shortcomings for Him to judge) will keep us focused where we should be in a conflict situation.
Scripture Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you
yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye.
~Luke 6:42 (NKJV) Prayer
Lord, where I need work, let me see it and let me work on myself diligently. Help me to control my temper Lord, making my temple and my soul act in harmony for presentation to you. Amen and amen!
Faithful Action Step
If presented with conflict today, I will remember that I have plenty of faults, and that it's my job to focus on my own, not point out the faults of others. |
