Press Towards the High Mark of God's Calling

A Word from the Pastor

I sometimes get a caught up in things of life that make me look towards the past and end up getting stuck, unable to move forward. Does that ever happen to you? The apostle Paul said these words, that I forget the former things in life and press towards the high mark of Gods calling.

It is so easy for us in life to dwell on our past hurts and pains, to dwell on our old lives, where we may have done things wrong or were doing some form of drugs or alcohol and possibly did something that hurt you or someone else to this day. One of my friends tells me that when one of those attacks comes your way, start rejoicing and know where God brought you out of. Praise God! (I am rejoicing now!) If someone or something or even a company has done you wrong, don't try to get a vengeful plan to destroy them going. In God's word it says to pray for those who hurt you or did you wrong.

I came across this message that I would like to share with you. It was written and given as a speech in our very first service by a person who has been a part of this ministry from day one, someone who's seen both the good times and the hard times. Re-reading this message brings wonderful memories of that day and inspires me to remember that God has something good in store for you.

May God Richly Bless You and Yours Always,
Pastor Cory P. Pariseau

A New Beginning
by a CWCCC Member

My being here this morning is a small miracle! All of my life my personal relationship with God has been fixed, solid, ever-present…however I can't say the same about my relationships with humans. Although my faith was always solid, I never felt a connection to any one church, although I attended and tried out many over different periods in my life.

The world was my church and for me, that was fine, even though I did feel there was the missing element of fellowship and support.  Because of past hurts and various circumstances, I simply didn't have enough faith and trust in humans to develop the bond that being a member of a congregation can bring.  The good Lord and this Church have changed that for me, and the impact in my life has been great.

Some months ago, The Lord brought a new business client into my life, and I rejoiced and gave thanks…'cause I really needed that job!  Little did I know just how blessed I really was by that chance meeting (which was well planned out on God's part, I'm now sure).  I would never have guessed how touched I'd be by the vision of this Church, this Pastor…how involved I'd become and how much it would change my life and in turn help to facilitate change in the hearts and minds of others I love dearly…but indeed, it has, and in SO many ways.

Although consciously I wasn't even aware that I was at a crossroads in my life, God had a plan.  Oh, I knew the obvious things…that life circumstances had truly brought me to my knees in every way imaginable over the past few years.  I knew that God was moving me to act on faith in many ways over just this past year. I knew that many doors opened to me because I had been doing that and I knew how amazed I was at realizing that they were, indeed, opening…what I didn't know was that my plans and God's were a little different.  Imagine that! LOL He was molding me, preparing me for greater things.

Matthew 28 verses 19 and 20 says:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

This is what this Church has done for me.  I am a disciple, standing here today, publicly, proudly and openly fellowshipping with you and proclaiming that Jesus is Lord!  This is largely due to the impact that the vision of this Church has had on me.

I am a miracle.  What I do and who I am, makes a difference .  I have the ability to touch lives every day in both small and large ways, human to human, one point of contact at a time. I've learned that a random act of kindness can truly touch a heart and plant a seed and it's amazing to watch them grow!  We are all significant, divinely created and deserving of love.  This Church has opened my eyes to those facts, making me the disciple who gratefully, stands before you today.  I now know that each and every thing I do has an impact on my brother, on my sister…and I'm not alone.

The Lord's plan and this Church have already created many disciples, impacted many lives other than my own in advance of this beginning celebration, and that impact on many has led to the actuality of our gathering here this morning.

Some might look at this first service and say, "What kind of a church is this?  Service in a school, no permanent home, where is this going?"  I submit to you that we, gathered together here this morning, are not only witnessing, are not merely bystanders, but are participants in the materializing of a true miracle today…a stepping out in faith, a new beginning, that is truly a spirit led and divinely inspired journey, which has and will continue, to lead many hearts and souls to Christ Jesus.

We are witnessing the manifested vision of not only a Pastor and a changed man (a true miracle in itself), but even the visions of others who saw and foretold that this day would come to pass. We are witnessing the fruits of many labors, attended to with love, patience and perseverance by both God and man.   We are witnessing that which God has commanded and paved the way for.  A day that through hard times and good times…doubt and faith…sweat…toil and sacrifice, that The Lord has opened unimaginable and amazing doors to bring to pass!

I want to encourage you all to open your hearts and minds today, absorb the blessings that are bestowed upon you right here, right now…and then pass them on!  This IS the day that The Lord hath made – rejoice and be glad in it!  You make a difference and you can touch a heart – today! God has a plan for you and today you are traveling the road of that plan…it's no mistake that you're here…His plan for you is in action as we speak!

Good Quotes

You can tell the size of your God by looking at the size of your worry list.
The longer your list, the smaller your God.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
