What an awesome start of the New Year, becoming this new church in the body of Christ! Even though we are in a small holding pattern with holding our
Sunday services and Wednesday night Bible studies until we can find a place of our own that wont cost us as much, things are still going strong to build God's church. We ask for prayer in these matters and
for the building fund. We are talking to some people who may be able to help us come up with the funding for a property for the church, so please join us in prayer on this.
Our first Pastor and Ministry conference was with City Vision Ministry here in Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Jim Swearingen has a great vision to bring urban and suburban churches together in partnership to combat
inner city problems. I was excited to be invited and to be a part of the conference. Please visit Pastor Jim Swearingen and city Vision at his website ( www.city-vision.org) to see how you can help. One of our sisters in Christ has gone home to be with the Lord.
Cleopra Dyas out of California, who has served on the National Parent Leadership Team and the California Parent Leadership Team of Parents Anonymous, was a very strong and wonderful woman of God. Her
untimely death was felt by all and she will be greatly missed. Please keep her family in prayer in their time of bereavement.
A Word from the Pastor Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths ~Proverbs 3:5-6The first sermon I ever preached was at a small church in southeast Ohio called Hillside Chapel.
The church happens to be my childhood church. Even though we went to many churches when I was young, Hillside was the church I was baptized at. My Pastor, Jim Mullet, is now my wise council who I can call on
anytime I am having problems in ministry or personal life. He extended the invitation to me. The night before the Pastor sat me down at his house in the country, we sat and had tea together. As the
evening became night, and listening to my Pastor talk of many years of ministry, I knew at that moment that this was a God appointed time in my life. Not a time to talk, but a time to listen to the wisdom this man had
inside him and receive the benefits of his advice coming from the many years of service he gave to God through the church. As he was talking, he was telling me about a story of one of his favorite authors
who wrote a book called The Road Less Traveled. At that moment in time, I knew I was supposed to be there, because the name of the message I was giving was Crossing Roads Less Traveled. God had given me a sign when I
was so nervous about my first message. God often gives us signs such as this in our everyday lives. The key is to learn to recognize them and acknowledge them. In this way, as the verse above refers to, you
are allowing Him to direct your paths. When in doubt, I always go back to the beginning and the words God had given in Jeremiah 6:16: Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. STAND: Look at where you are in your life and listen to how God wants to lead you. ANCIENT PATHS: Look at how things were done before you…your mom, dad, teacher, even your preacher may
hold the keys to some of the wisdom you will need. Look to your elders as mentors, whose knowledge and advice are a treasure of a resource to tap into!
GOOD WAYS: Follow those good ways and walk in them.
YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOUL May God Richly Bless You and Yours Always,Pastor Cory P. Pariseau
