May the abundance and blessings of the Lord be with you this lovely August day!
We are thankful to be coming to you this month with news packed with hope for the future of God's Church. Surely He has kept Crossroads World Christian Center Church in His favor this past month (as always), and we are delighted and blessed that He has done so.
At the end of July we had an organizational meeting, the purpose of which was to set and prioritize goals and to begin working on them.
As Christ built His Church one person at a time, so it seems he is doing with this ministry. In attendance were Associate Pastor Chuck Foster and his lovely wife Deaconess Daria Foster, Karen Hobor, Matt Miller and myself. I would
like to send a heartfelt thank you out to all of them and to congratulate Matt, who has agreed to serve on our board here at Crossroads! You are all truly blessings. We are currently in search of more board members who
are willing to volunteer their time and efforts. If your are interested, please fill out our
Volunteer Questionnaire and mail it by US mail or email it to the Volunteer Ministry. One of the main goals we focused on at this meeting was getting funding for a physical location for the Church. We discussed several fund raising options, including yard
sales, bake sales, candy sales and others. We decided that we would immediately hold a yard sale to raise funds. We did so that next week, and I'm happy to report that it was a success in many ways. Not only was I able
to meet and talk with many wonderful neighborhood residents and potential congregants, but we also raised about $300 to further our efforts.
With the fund now beginning to grow, we are hoping to be in a physical location in the next month or so, so be watching for updated news on this on the Events page of our site!
Any donation that God puts on your heart to make towards these efforts would also be greatly appreciated! We have also been in contact with a Church
that is blessed to be building a brand new building, and will be moving out of their old one. There is a possibility that they may be able to supply us with donations of goods that can be used to help in our new location. We will be contacting them again next week on this to find out if this is possible for them. If you have anything to donate that could be of use in our new building, please
contact us. God is truly opening doors for us here at Crossroads! Please keep us in your
prayers on these matters. A Word from the Pastor Need Direction?
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ~John 14:6On the road of life, we travel long and fast going from destination to destination.
No matter where you're going, whether it be to work or to play, the road of life is fast and furious with many roads to chose from. Sometimes we find ourselves on a dark and lonely road and sometimes we will travel
for miles and miles on this dark and lonely road until we get tired and come to that four way stop where one road crosses over another road. You come to a stop at this crossroads in life, where now a decision must be
made. You get out of the car and look around and it seems that there is no one but you at this crossroads. All the while you are confused and confounded as to what to do. Do you go straight on the road ahead, or
do you take a chance going to the right or the left? Should you go back the way you came from? We travel through life so fast sometimes, it's hard to look back and track the steps we have taken. Normally when we
come to a crossroads, it means we need new direction (or to take a new direction) in our life. When this occurs, we're looking for something that is going to fill us up on the inside, something that will give us the
directions we need to know, help us determine which road to take and how fast we need to travel on this road of life.
I've been contemplating some of the road maps God gave us in His Word on matters like these this week. In the Old Testament, the Jewish people came to a crossroads in the desert and finally saw the direction
that was always available (had they chosen to receive it) and went into the promise land; however, it took some time for them to "get it" (40 years to be exact). A young man named Saul, who God blinded on a road
on his way to his destination, received a new direction and a new name from God himself! We know him as Paul, and he is one of the many and most inspiring writers of the Bible we now use for guidance and direction
ourselves, can you imagine that? I think of the young lady Mary Magdalene, who sat at the feet of Jesus, her sins forgiven, who was given a new direction and was a faithful follower of Jesus for the rest of her
life. I invite you to search your Bible
for these inspiring stories and the many more I've not mentioned here
to receive inspiration and guidance on the direction your life should be taking at this point. One (or more) of them will really hit home with you and will bring you the direction you need. We have added an
Online Bibles section to our Online Study
page that we hope helps you in your search. If you allow God to give you His road map for your life, He will implant in your heart where he will guide your footsteps for the rest of your days.
May God Richly Bless You and Yours Always, Pastor Cory P. Pariseau Crossroads World Christian Center Church |
